Michael Kalb, born 1989, is a German producer and director. He is a graduate of the University of Television and Film in Munich and has worked on numerous film projects in the USA, Italy, Greece and Brazil, among others.
With two case studies on the European film market Kalb contributed several pages to the book “The Business of Film: A Practical Introduction” (Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group). His first full-length documentary Children of Tomorrow was broadcasted on German Television and won the Augsburg Media Prize 2020.
As a teenager, Kalb received local film awards such as the Swabian and Bavarian Youth Film Awards for some of his short films. He took part in a variety of festival labs and producer programs (e.G. East-West Talent Lab, Berlinale Co-Production Market, Zurich Film Festival Academy, Emerging Producers Programme).His productions are now running at renowned international film festivals. Selection:
