After a neo-Nazi attack, METIN (41) and SERPIL (38), who fled their homeland, struggle to find a safe place to live for their traumatized children BERKIN (11) and DILAN (14). But when the local authorities once again assign them to a “refugee shelter,” they refuse and come into conflict with the authorities. The police lock up the parents and send Berkin and Dilan to a children's home. A desperate struggle for their children begins – and a confrontation with their own responsibility between family and their political struggle for justice.
